2.  Clinical Nurse Specialist - Palliative Care - Southern District

                                                          

 

CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST PALLIATIVE CARE

 

·         Fulltime, permanent position

 

In this role you have the opportunity to shape our palliative care services.  We are ambitious because the people in our care deserve no less.

 

This is a joint initiative between Southern District Health Board and Hospice Southland Charitable Trust. Employed by SDHB you will work across the two organisations with the focus being the enhancement of clinical nursing practice, centered on patients and their families within the Hospital. Within Hospice Southland, you will have collegial support from palliative nurse specialist peers including working closely with the Hospice Medical Director.

 

You are a practitioner and a passionate one. You are a leader and an educator able to lend advice, foster change and champion ideas. A registered nurse, you have post graduate qualifications in palliative care.  Shaping this service you will liaise closely with SMOs and generalist nurses assisting them in achieving the very best outcomes for patients. You will be dealing with an array of people you are not the shy and retiring type, and you will have been around long enough to know that change is best achieved by example.
